About Chef Simi
Simileoluwa “Simi” Adebajo built Eko Kitchen with her love of food from her home country of Nigeria. She opened her debut location in San Francisco’s SoMa district in 2019 and her second location in Los Angeles’ Arts District in 2021.
By partnering with local vendors and using recipes from her mother and grandmothers’ repertoires, she’s brought a taste of Lagos to California. Simi is dedicated to serving her local communities through initiatives that feed the homeless. She worked closely with SF New Deal to address food scarcity needs during the COVID pandemic.
Simi and Eko Kitchen have been recognized with regional and national press coverage from The San Francisco Chronicle, Bon Appetit, Eater, San Francisco Magazine, Today.com, Thrillist, and The Guardian. Eko Kitchen is San Francisco's first and only hub for Nigerian cooking, with a modern twist.
